My name is Gav and I am an International student from New Delhi, India. I did my Graduation and Post-Graduation from LJMU also working as Vice President of LJMU International Society. Coming to Liverpool was daunting since it is miles and miles away from my hometown. It was also one of the first cities I visited abroad. But I soon found out that life in Liverpool combines the excitement of a vibrant student city with the security of a compact university campus.
As a new student, I received a real warm welcome from the University and soon became part of the community. The University buildings form a secure, compact neighbourhood near to the city centre with all student support services and facilities close to hand. Built on an illustrious heritage that stretches back 800 years, Liverpool has a global reputation for sport, music, architecture and a wealth of culture for students to explore. Today the city is enjoying an economic resurgence, driven by its designation as European Capital of Culture in 2008.
I’ve always worked with Societies and Clubs throughout my school days but this year will be even more special once Viva La Fiesta Liverpool launches. I have always known there were International students in this great city (who doesn’t come to see the home of the Beatles?) But what is even more exciting is that for the first time ever, the Internationals from LJMU, Uni and Hope will all get a chance to come together asone big family. Thank you Viva La Fiesta J
